Rare Crocodile Specimen New Crocodile sp. Green River Formation, Lincoln County, Wyoming Eocene Matrix measures 42 x 84in, crocodile measures nearly 7in in length This is one of the rarest fossils discovered within the Limestone lacustrine sediments of ancient Fossil Lake. This crocodile was discovered in 1998 on a private ranch in S.W. Wyoming. It is completely original and in the natural matrix exhibiting amazing color from the remants of volcanic ash within the limestone. The overall dimensions are 42 x 84 inches with the animal measuring nearly 7 feet in total length. $325,000
TUR05182010
Large Turtle Trionyx sp. Green River Formation, Lincoln County, Wyoming Eocene Matrix measures 6ft 6in x 6ft 1in; turtle measures 5ft 4in in length This is one of the largest turtles ever found in the Green River Formation. It measures 5'4" from tip of tail to tip of nose. It has been prepared from both sides in the original limestone matrix it was found in. The animal had been scavenged by possibly a crocodile before it was buried. Overall matrix dimensions are 6'6" x 6'1". $325,000
MTC06082010
Massive Turtle Cluster - Nebraska Miocene 32 x 18 x 6in, Largest specimen measures 12in This large, natural assemblage of eleven turtle shells preserved in original matrix represents a rare occurrence. A grouping of this size, with shells (carapaces) ranging from juvenile to adult is uncommon and highly desirable. The specimens are seen assembled together in what was probably a mass mortality of the entire group, indicating that a cataclysmic geologic event may have caused the death of many animals at once. Thought-provoking from a scientific standpoint, this presentation is very decorative as well. From the George Lee Collection of Southern California. $12,000

Large Crocodile Skull on Stand - Southeast Asia Pleistocene Measures 29 x 16in As illustrated by this impressive fossil skull, the crocodile is a living fossil - an animal that has changed little since prehistoric times. This timeless quality can be perceived in the present massive specimen, the formidable teeth of which are original to the skull. Natural skull texture adds aesthetic interest. Offered on a custom metal stand, ready for display. $12,500 |
