Very rarely is a fossil from the famed La Brea Tar Pits made available on the market. The present fine specimen was originally discovered and collected circa 1960. The massive size of its dentition, which is more powerful than the dentition of any other species of Canis, lack a developed crushing surface, suggesting that the teeth were used for smashing large bones.
